Last week marked the 3 year anniversary of my father's death. It came and went without fanfare or even a blog post. Hard to believe it's been 3 years. It's always easy for me to keep track of how long it's been because he passed away so soon after Kiley was born. I think of him often and I miss him, but mostly I'm saddened by how much he has missed in the lives of his grandchildren. I only hope he's watching them from somewhere up above and getting a good laugh out of their daily antics.

2 years...
It's hard to believe it's been 2 years since my dad passed away. I am often saddened when I look around at his beautiful grandchildren and see what he's missing. My only hope is that somewhere he's looking down at us and laughing.

One Year Ago...
One year ago my sister and I drove up to visit my dad, not knowing that just a few hours later we would get a call in the middle of the night that he had passed away. I will always be thankful that we got to see him that night. I will always be thankful that he was able to spend one last Christmas with us in Jacksonville. I will be thankful that he lived long enough to meet his granddaughter.

Today...
Today would have been my Dad's 65th birthday. This is one of my favorite series of pictures that we used at his funeral service. Here you can see the video the boys did for him just last year. I really hope he's watching us from wherever he is because I'm sad to think about all the great stuff he's been missing around here.

Future Camper...
When Grandpa Bob was visiting a few weeks ago we took a drive up to Gander Mountain where they sell lots of tents. Cole has so much fun checking them all out.

Washington DC...
Last week was Cole's spring break. We took the opportunity to head up to Washington DC with my Dad for a few days. The weather was cool and a little rainy, but we still had a great time. The first day we visited the Vietnam Memorial and a few other monuments in that area.

Cole's Nemo Fishing Pole...
Back when I was pregnant with Cole my Dad gave him a Nemo fishing pole. He loves that pole and loves going fishing with it.

Show Me The Money...
The highlight from visiting Grandpa Bob's house is by far the very large and very loud slot machine. Cole was a pro at using it in no time.
