The Marriott Custom House...

During our visit we stayed at the Marriott Custom House (tall building in the background with the clock on it). It was a fantastic hotel; great location, great service, great amenities. My overall review of traveling to Boston with kids is as follows... The public transportation system makes it easy to navigate the city without a car (meaning we didn't need to bring car seats). The museums were some of the best we've ever visited. The locals were SO very friendly and helpful. The only bad part about Boston was that because it is a very old city there are lots of stairs, which are not ideal when navigating with a stroller. Many of the shops and subway stations had tons of stairs. Luckily, we were traveling with our awesome umbrella stroller, that I'm pretty sure I couldn't travel without. This concludes all of the Boston pictures (at least for now). It was a wonderful vacation and we're already trying to decide where we want to go exploring next year.

Random City Pics (part 2)...

Here are a few more random pics from around the beautiful city of Boston. Us at a fountain by the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden, Kiley sleeping in her stroller (god bless our AWESOME umbrella stroller), Jonathan & Cole in the Public Garden, Jonathan & Kiley on the top of our hotel and of course no trip would be complete without a trip to a GIGANTIC Apple store.

The Charles River...

While exploring the city we ended up at this beautiful park that stretched along the Charles River. The weather was warm so we ended up doing quite a bit of wandering around and exploring the area.

Cemetery...

On our last day in Boston we also happened upon a really old cemetery. Buried here are Paul Revere, John Hancock, Sam Adams & Mother Goose. It was cool to look at the old gravestones and talk with Cole about what the symbols meant.

Riding the T...

Boston has a fantastic public transportation system. We took the bus, subway & ferry while we were in the city. Cole loved every minute of it.

Cheers...

On our last day we also walked over to the original Cheers location and had lunch. Very touristy, but very fun.

Frogs...

We hung out by the Frog Pond and even played for a while at the playground on our last day in Boston. We had beautiful weather and it was a nice, relaxing way to spend our last day in the city.

Carousels...

While touring around Boston we came across a few Carousels. There was one at the Frog Pond and one across the street from our hotel near the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. We rode them all. Many times. Because that's what you do when you're on vacation!

Boston Museum of Science (part 2)...

Highlights from the Museum of Science were an area where kids could make their own mini museum and microscopes. Lots and lots of microscopes. In fact, I'm already on the look out for one for Cole's birthday.

Boston Museum of Science...

We were lucky to only have 1 rainy day during our trip. On that day we took the T over to the Museum of Science. To be honest, I had done very little research on this museum. I heard it was great and I knew that it was free with our local museum membership. Holy cow, it knocked our socks off. It was HUGE and I would guess about 95% of the exhibits were interactive. Cole had a blast learning about all sorts of science stuff.

The Boston Children's Museum (part 2)...

The Boston Children's Museum had so many incredible, interactive activities for the kids. Cole loved climbing to the top of their huge cage like thing and Kiley liked pretending to be on TV. There were bubbles, and building, and games. It was truly and awesome experience.

The Boston Children's Museum...

After the Harvard Museum of Natural History and a quick lunch, we spent the afternoon at the Boston Children's Museum. Holy cow, was it incredible! Now only were the exhibits great, but since we went in the afternoon it was virtually empty.

Harvard Museum of Natural History (part 2)...

Cole absolutely loved the Harvard Museum of Natural History. There was an entire room dedicated to rocks and minerals and lots of dinosaur skeletons. Since his pre-k class finished the year studying about dinosaurs this was a great culminating activity for him. He knew the names of lots of the skeletons before I could even read them to him.

Harvard Museum of Natural History...

We headed over to Cambridge to visit the Harvard campus and to take a look at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. It was an excellent museum and we ended up spending a lot more time there than I thought we would. It was pretty empty when we were there, which was nice because we could let Kiley walk through the museum without having to worry about her getting lost.

Bunker Hill (part 2)...

Since the light was just wonderful and the kids were having fun running around in the grass I was able to get some good pictures of them while we were visiting Bunker Hill.
